Looking Glass Falls

This waterfall maternity session at Looking Glass Falls is close to my heart and I am so excited to share more about it! I met Brittney and Brodrick five years ago when we became neighbors. Those neighbors quickly became friends and then family. I captured their couple photos when they were dating, their engagement session, wedding, maternity, and more.

Brittney asked me if it would be a crazy idea to do her maternity session at a waterfall. Naturally, I was 100% onboard and so excited! We began the search for the best location. A friend of her’s suggested Looking Glass Falls in Brevard, NC (about an hour outside of Asheville) due to it’s accessibility. After researching more about the area, we thought it was the perfect fit!

Waterfall Maternity Session

The day of the session, we were apprehensive due to the weather. NC weather has a mind of its own, especially, weather in the mountains. On our way to the waterfalls, we were in a torrential downpour. The roads were flooded in several areas and I did not think we were going to be able to do the session. After a treacherous ride, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the rain had not affected the falls at all. It was almost as if the storm had gone around them and we were able to continue with the session!

Brittney’s first outfit was a stunning pink dress that popped off the natural background. Her second outfit was a beautiful long white laced robe. I absolutely loved her outfit choices and the way it looked on location. Brodrick’s neutral shirt and pants complimented Brittney’s dress perfectly.

These two blew me away. I think they should consider modeling because holy smokes! They completely killed their session and we were able to capture so many gorgeous images. After, spending some time in front of the waterfall, we carefully made our way down the creek (carrying 12k in gear while walking in the water on slippery stones) to take some more with an outfit change. Fun fact about the second outfit, the robe Brittney is wearing was the same robe that she wore on her wedding day!
