As a UNC Alum, I always love returning to campus to photograph grads. Not only is it nostalgic for me, but I love celebrating my grads’ successes with them! This UNC Best Friend Grad Session was so much fun and I enjoyed getting to know a little bit about these grads and their plans for the future.
Getting to celebrate important milestones with your friends is amazing and documenting it with a group grad session is the perfect way to commemorate your time at school. Not only do you get both individual and group photos, but it is also cost-effective as grads are able to split the session price.
When planning group grad sessions, we are typically able to hit 2-3 iconic locations around campus. Everyone takes a turn at each location and we get a variety of poses for individual shots and group photos. It is so important to me for them to love their images and capture photos that feel like them.
The Old Well
The Bell Tower
Wilson Library
The Quad (Polk Place)
Coker Arboretum
Fordham Fountain
While these are some of my favorite locations, I love when my grads personalize their session. If a certain location means a lot to them, I am more than happy to capture them at their favorite spaces and locations. Props are also an excellent way to personalize the session. Think things like items specific to your major or future career (ie. healthcare – stethoscope, scrubs, badge, etc.), your favorite champagne for a champagne pop, continuing education memorabilia, and so much more.
